How long will a Miracle Method refinished countertop last?
With proper care and maintenance, refinishing can extend the useful life of your fixtures for up to 15-20 years or more. Our MM-4 bonding agent creates a chemical bond between old and new surfaces, assuring you a long life for your refinished countertop.
How durable are refinished countertops?
Miracle Method uses the most technologically advanced coatings available. These finishes are designed to stand up to daily use and do not require special care. However, like any laminate, tile or man made surface, a refinished surface can be chipped, cut or burned if it is abused. However, unlike these other surfaces, Miracle Method can repair and return a refinished surface to like new.
Do refinished countertops look painted?
A Miracle Method refinished countertop resembles new laminate. If refinished in Natural Accents™, the new surface will resemble the more expensive natural stone or Silestone®. Most people will have a difficult time telling any difference between a Miracle Method refinished countertop and a newly installed laminate or solid surface countertop. The Miracle Method process is that good!
How long does it take to refinish a kitchen countertop or bathroom vanity?
Miracle Method offers two countertop finish options. The first is a solid color or speckled finish that takes 3 to 5 hours and is ready to use the next day. This is typically used in apartments. The second option is our Natural Accents™ stone finish. An affordable upgrade, Natural Accents™ typically takes two days to apply and an additional 24 to 48 hours to cure, depending on humidity and ambient temperatures.
How does refinishing compare to replacement costs?
Refinishing costs vary across the country but refinishing will almost always be a fraction of the total cost of removing and replacing a kitchen countertop or large vanity. Bathroom vanities are often refinished at the same time as the bathtub and surround. Homeowners save even more when all the work is done at once.
Does refinishing have an odor?
New acrylic countertop finishes contain solvents which are necessary to make the finish hard and durable. We use special ventilation fans to exhaust odors and smells from the work area. Dissipation of the odor depends on a variety of factors including temperature and amount of air moved. Generally, most of the odor dissipates within 24-48 hours as the finish completely cures creating a long lasting, beautiful finish! In the event you are sensitive to paint-like odors, please let us know so we can discuss accommodations for your service.
Are there many colors available?
Miracle Method can match any existing laminate color or create almost any custom color of your choosing. We also offer Natural Accents™, a stone look in a variety of colors and textures for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities. See Natural Accents™ samples.
Can Miracle Method fix chips, knife marks, burns and scratches?
Chips, knife marks, burns and scratches can usually be repaired during the preparation stage of the refinishing process. All surface damage is cleaned, sanded, filled, and sanded smooth before refinishing.
Is refinishing just for laminates, like Formica®?
Miracle Method can refinish a variety of countertop and vanity surfaces, including laminates, tile, Corian®, and cultured marble.
How does refinishing work on kitchen countertops?

Does a refinished surface take special care?
You’ll find our care instructions are similar to those for most brand new countertops…do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, harsh acids, or bleach. Most laminate countertops become worn and dull due to abrasive cleansers, not from time.
